Let's talk about the real history of the nanny pro Let's talk about the real history of the nanny profession.

Black women didn't just contribute to this industry. They built it—often without choice, rarely with credit, and almost never with the respect or compensation they deserved.

From enslavement through the Jim Crow era and beyond, Black women cared for children while being separated from their own families. They brought professionalism, expertise, and love to work that was systematically devalued because of who was doing it.

Their legacy isn't just part of our history. It's the foundation we stand on.

Today, we honor that legacy by fighting for what should have always existed: Fair compensation. Respect. Professional recognition. Safety training. Career-level opportunities.

Every nanny, regardless of race, deserves to be treated as the elite professional they are. That's not just our standard. It's how we move this industry forward.

To the Black women who paved this path: We see you. We honor you. And we're committed to building the industry you deserved all along.
