NNRW – National Nanny Recognition Week – is still not a widely recognized appreciation week, which is a shame. Nannies are constantly undervalued and overlooked. But not yours! That’s why you’re here. NNRW happens every year during the last week of September so we recommend adding that to your calendar for next year!
What is Nanny Recognition Week?
National Nanny Recognition Week was created by nannies for nannies to celebrate all the selfless and significant work that goes into the job. It is a week-long celebration to honor the remarkable and invaluable work of all nannies.
We know that you care about your nanny and want to celebrate her/him. So hats off to you for being a wonderful employer and here are 5 ways to celebrate your nanny during national nanny recognition week. (There’s an idea for every day of NNRW!)
5 Ways to Celebrate Your Nanny
1. Cash Bonus
While it may be the most impersonal option, nannies will appreciate the extra spending cash. Let them decide how they want to spend it and celebrate their hard work that week.
2. Gift Cards
Take it one step further and show your nanny that you know what and where she’d love to go. Some great gift card options are for:
• A spa day
• A massage
• A fancy restaurant
• Their favorite coffee shop
• Excursions
3. Flowers & Card
Everyone loves walking in to see flowers and a handwritten card or note that expresses their employer’s appreciation. Make their day with this beautiful gift.
4. Photo with Nanny and Kids
If you want to go a more sentimental route, print a picture of your nanny with the kids and have it framed. Bonus points if the kids or you can write a note on the back!
5. Nanny Sweatshirt
We may be biased, but we love these adorable nanny sweatshirts in all styles! From Barbie-themed to Varsity-themed, your nanny will feel appreciated and comfortable this upcoming winter.
We know your nanny will appreciate whatever you decide to do in recognition of all their hard work. Let us know what you do for your nanny by sharing it on social and tagging @thenannyleague!
